Mentoring Program:

We have found that mentoring is one of the key elements to helping replace old, non-Christian behavior and reasoning that supported a previous life of crime. A mentor behind the walls is the initial bridge of the Christian Ex-offender’s new way of living upon release."Men With a Mission"
What is a Mentor? A mentor is a role model, a guide and a wise and trusted friend with a lot of life experience who is there to be a support to an FCA Student. Mentors are admired and respected members in their communities and in the organizations to which they belong. Mentoring allows the individuals involved to share experiences and learn from them while building a supportive relationship over time. A mentor is a caring individual who forms a relationship with a less experienced person during a time in their life when they are facing challenges.
Mentoring behind the walls
- FOCUS Christian Academy (FCA Inside) is a major component of the FOCUS Transition Program that offers or arranges classroom and other training support focused on spiritual foundation building, life disciplines, relationships, finances, and accountability. FCA Inside offers our students a Spirit, Mind, and Body holistic curriculum including life skills and spiritual training which even includes college level Seminary Training through the Roy Wyatt Seminary Extension Center - certified through the Southern Baptist Seminary Extension Program.
Mentoring Program
Mentoring opportunities are available at the following facilities: East Tennessee’s three prisons – Morgan County Correctional Complex (MCCX), Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (BCCX), and Northeast Regional Correctional Complex (NECX); and three area detention facilities in Knox County, Roane County, and Anderson County.
Note: A very unique opportunity to mentor fathers who are seeking to become better dads is available at most of these locations – the Fatherhood and Character Building Initiative (FCBI) Unit is a cutting edge program at MCCX modeled after the Exodus Program that FOCUS began in 2010 at Knox County. This same opportunity will also be available for women through a Motherhood Initiative at BCCX.

Core Verse:  For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisors make victory sure.
