FOCUS Support Groups meet weekly behind the walls of four East Tennessee prisons, as well as, Knox & Anderson County jails and are a major anchor for building the trust relationships necessary to foster open communication regarding spiritual needs. Anyone (and any topic) is welcome in these informal support groups where the FOCUS facilitator and these men take off the masks and discuss real-life issues that are important in their lives. Again FOCUS stands for Following Our Choices Unto Success, and these groups help men to develop a new lifestyle of making better choices using the bible as a basis for these choices. These groups supplement the mentoring program, and continue to be a weekly source of support and encouragement upon the inmate’s release from prison.
